Tun Tavern Ministries (“Tun Tavern,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides resources, events, groups, and communications that help men forge courage, build brotherhood, and live on mission. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you visit our websites, interact with our emails or forms, register for groups or events, make a donation, or otherwise use our services (collectively, the “Services”).

By using the Services, you agree to this Policy and to our Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

Information We Collect

We collect the information needed to operate our ministry and improve your experience.

1) Information You Provide

  • Account/Registration Data: name, email, phone, username, password, profile details (e.g., city, brief bio), group affiliation.
  • Communications: messages you send us (email, forms, chat); prayer requests or feedback you choose to share.
  • Event/Group Participation: sign-ups, RSVPs, attendance, preferences.
  • Donations: amount, frequency, and basic billing details. (Payment card data is handled by our payment processor—see “Service Providers.”)
  • Testimonials/Stories: if you choose to submit content that may be shared (with permission).

2) Information Collected Automatically

  • Log & Device Data: IP address, device type, browser, operating system, pages viewed, referral URLs, date/time, and general location derived from IP.
  • Cookies & Similar Technologies: used for sign-in, preferences, analytics, and performance. You can manage cookies in your browser; some features may not work if disabled.

3) Location Information

If you enable it or share it (e.g., your city in a profile or form), we may process approximate location for relevant groups, events, or content.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide, secure, and maintain the Services (accounts, groups, events, communications).
  • Send updates about gatherings, resources, volunteer opportunities, or changes to the Services.
  • Process donations and provide receipts and year-end statements.
  • Personalize content (e.g., show nearby events or relevant groups).
  • Improve our website and communications via analytics and diagnostics.
  • Enforce policies, protect against fraud/abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

No Selling: We do not sell your personal information.

Ministry Sensitivity: We recognize that faith-related participation can be sensitive. We only share such information as described below or with your consent.

When We Share Information

We share information only as needed to run the ministry, or when you direct us to.

  • Service Providers: Trusted vendors who host our site, send emails/SMS, process donations, provide analytics, or support IT/security (e.g., web host, email platform, CRM, payment processor). They may access personal information only to perform services for us and must protect it.
  • Group/Community Interactions: If you join a group or forum designed for interaction, your name (and any profile details you choose to share) may be visible to other participants. Consider carefully what you share in any community space.
  • Legal, Safety, and Compliance: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect any person’s safety, rights, or property, or to address fraud, security, or technical issues.
  • Organizational Changes: If Tun Tavern Ministries restructures (e.g., merges or transfers its activities), information may transfer as part of that change, subject to this Policy or a successor policy that is at least as protective.
  • Aggregated/De-Identified Data: We may share non-personal, aggregated insights that do not identify individuals.

Your Choices & Rights

  • Email & SMS: You can unsubscribe from promotional emails or texts at any time via the link in our messages or by contacting us. We may still send important transactional notices (e.g., receipts, critical updates).
  • Access & Update: You can request a copy of your information or ask us to correct it.
  • Deletion: You can request that we delete your account or certain personal information (subject to legal retention requirements).
  • Preferences: Manage cookies in your browser settings.

Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including legal, accounting, or reporting requirements (e.g., donation records).

No system is 100% secure, and you share information at your own risk. Please use strong, unique passwords and protect your account credentials.

International Users

Our systems and service providers may be located in the United States and other jurisdictions. By using the Services, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in locations that may have different data protection laws than your home country.

Third-Party Links, Plugins, and Analytics

Our Services may include links to third-party sites, social features (e.g., social share buttons), and analytics tools (e.g., web analytics). These third parties may set their own cookies and have their own privacy policies. We do not control and are not responsible for their practices.

Text Messaging (SMS)

With your consent, we may send SMS messages (e.g., reminders, updates). Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP; reply HELP for help. Message frequency varies.

Photos and Video at Events

We may capture photos or video at events for ministry purposes. If you prefer not to appear, please let an event leader know or contact us at [email protected].

Children’s Privacy

Our Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us at [email protected] and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

Donor Privacy

We do not sell or trade donor information. We use donor personal information only to process gifts, send acknowledgments, and provide ministry updates. Payment processing is handled by our payment processor; we do not store full payment card numbers.

Community Guidelines (How We Treat One Another)

As a brotherhood-oriented ministry, we expect all users to:

  • Refrain from harassment, threats, hate speech, or explicit content.
  • Avoid sharing others’ personal information without permission.
  • Not attempt to access another person’s account or introduce malware/abusive automation.
  • Share truthfully (no false identities) and participate respectfully.

We may moderate or remove content and suspend accounts that violate these standards.

Dispute Resolution; Governing Law

This Policy and any disputes arising from it are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that any claim or dispute between you and Tun Tavern Ministries related to this Policy or the Services will be resolved by binding arbitration in Douglas County, Colorado, on an individual basis (not a class action), and that judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction. If you do not agree to arbitration, please do not use the Services.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be posted at https://tuntavernministry.org/privacy. If changes are material, we’ll provide a prominent notice (e.g., site banner or email). Your continued use of the Services after the effective date of any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
